A crown is a tooth-shaped cover which is used to restore a very damaged or discoloured tooth. They are also used to restore implants. It completely encloses the tooth, strengthening the remaining tooth structure, restoring or improving its appearance and function. It can be made out of porcelain (ceramic), metal (precious or non-precious), or a combination of materials.
Providing a dental crown usually involves two visits to the clinic. The tooth will be shaped correctly and prepared for an impression. This is then delivered to a specialist in a lab who crafts a bespoke crown for your tooth. This is then placed on the tooth and if it meets all our requirements, it is cemented in place. Crowns are generally among the longest lasting restorations and if looked after properly with regular visits will provide excellent aesthetics and many years of service.
We have taken the time to source the best materials at the best prices from Irish labs, to deliver the best quality lab work to our patients. We only place restorations that we are happy to stand over, excluding damage from dental disease or misuse.
