Dr. Gregg Barry

Dr. Gregg Barry graduated from University College Cork in 2008 with an Honors degree and the W&H award for operative dentistry. He has continued his professional career in private practice since this time.

Dr. Barry has dedicated himself to improving at every opportunity, spending hours and resources traveling to various countries to attend courses and conferences. He has received advanced training in Cosmetic Dentistry, Short-Term Orthodontics and Endodontics.

He continues to expand his skill set to offer his patients high quality dentistry in a friendly and relaxed manner, while always focusing on the goals of the patient. He has attended training in Italy, London and Zurich in CEREC Digital Dentistry, moving to the forefront of integrated digital dentistry in Ireland.


Dr. Daniel Collins

Dr. Daniel Collins graduated from Cork University Dental School and Hospital with an Honours Degree in 2007. Since graduation he has worked in Private Practice in Dublin.

Dr. Collins has traveled extensively to gain further education in CEREC Digital Dentistry and cosmetic training to benefit his patients. He has traveled to America and Europe numerous times to complete advanced training in cosmetic and implant dentistry. Daniel keeps up to date with all the latest advances in general dentistry and has completed a 26-month aesthetic and restorative course and an eighteen-month Diploma in Conscious Sedation in Dentistry in the Dublin Dental University Hospital in order to help anxious and phobic patients overcome their fear of dentistry.

Dr. Collins practices all aspects of general dentistry, and has considerable experience in restorative and cosmetic dentistry. He also has a particular interest in clear braces.


Dr. Eamon Nugent

Dr Eamon Nugent joined us in August 2014. Eamon is a graduate of Cork Dental School, where he had the distinction of graduating top of his class. During his time there he won the Gold Medal in Restorative Dentistry, along with the W&H UK Limited Restorative Prize, and was awarded the Highest Mark in Fixed Prosthodontics.

After graduation he moved to Scotland to further train and spent time working in the Children’s Department of the Edinburgh Dental Institute, where he received training from a variety of world-renowned specialists in this area. Due to his interest in treating anxious patients, he worked as part of the General Dental Anxiety Management Service in Edinburgh, working together with patients to achieve their goals under either local anaesthetic or with the help of sedation.

He subsequently worked as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery based in Glasgow, training in areas, which included oral surgery, trauma, facial injuries and the management of patients with varying medical conditions. During his time in Scotland, Eamon was successful in obtaining his Diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, granting him Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons.


Dr. Ailbhe Murphy

Dr. Ailbhe Murphy – Ailbhe is the latest dentist to join our expanding team. Originally from Wexford, Ailbhe studied Dentistry in Cork at the same time as her colleague Eamon.

After qualifying, Ailbhe moved to London to begin her career. During her years working in general practice in London, Ailbhe dedicated much time to improving her skillset across wide reaching areas of dentistry.

She received further training in the area of Cosmetic Dentistry, particularly the placement of aesthetic white fillings, veneers, and crowns. She also completed a six month course in Oral Surgery at the Eastman Dental Institute and carried out further training in Endodontics.

During this period Ailbhe successfully completed exams to become a Member of the Joint Faculty of Dental Surgeons. Along with all our other dentists, Ailbhe is a provider of Six Month Smiles clear braces system.

Dr. Gavin Nugent

Gavin also graduated from Cork Dental School, where he was recognised for his high standards of dental care by being awarded the British Society for Restorative Dentistry Award and the Best Student in Fixed Prosthodontics. He was able to do this while balancing his studies with playing rugby to a high level. After representing Munster and Ireland at underage levels, he went on to represent his University.

Upon graduating, Gavin further honed his skills in the UK where he completed further training,  while working in general dental practice. He spent several years working in both Manchester and London, building up a loyal patient base who loved his caring and gentle approach to providing dental treatment. 

Gavin has recently returned home to Ireland to pursue a career in private practice. He enjoys delivering all aspects of restorative dentistry and prides himself in providing the highest standards and most up to date methods of care to his patients.

Dr. Anne Elliott

Having completed a four year degree in mathematics, her first love; Anne began Dentistry and graduated from Trinity College in 2009.

After completing her time in the Dental Hospital, she worked in private practice in Dublin, followed by four years enjoying the Western Australian sunshine and gaining extensive experience in cosmetic and restorative ceramic dental treatments. She was thrilled to return home and join the team at Docklands Dental.

She enjoys all aspects of dentistry; transforming anxious patients’ attitudes towards their dental visits is a personal mission. Anne believes in caring for her patients with a personalised approach while providing them with the best possible dental experience.

She loves learning and has continued to expand her dental knowledge with training in orthodontics, ceramics, modern dental technology and cosmetic dentistry.



Dr. Marie O’Neill – Oral Surgery

Oral Surgeon – BDS (Hons) NUI, MFDS RCSEd. PGrad. Dip. Con. Sed., D. Ch. Dent (Oral Surgery), FFD (OS) RCSI

Dr. Marie O’ Neill graduated with honours from Cork University School and Hospital in 2007. She worked in Edinburgh for two years, completing her vocational training in an oral and maxillofacial unit. While in Edinburgh she attained Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. She then returned home where she spent some time working in private practice in Dublin. In 2011 she completed a Postgraduate Diploma, with Distinction, in Conscious Sedation in Dentistry from Trinity College Dublin.

Dr. O’ Neill then began a three year full-time Clinical Doctorate in Oral Surgery in the Dublin Dental University Hospital. She graduated with a first class honours from her Oral Surgery Specialty in 2014. She was also awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland, in Oral Surgery, the same year. Dr. O Neill is a Consultant Oral Surgeon at the Mater Private Hospital Dublin and a registered Specialist Oral Surgeon with the Irish Dental Council.

Dr. Derek Duggan, BDentSc, MS (Endodontics)

Diplomate, American Board of Endodontics

Dr. Duggan is a dental graduate of Trinity College Dublin who went on to complete his Masters in Endodontics at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. Dr. Duggan subsequently taught at UNC for 6 years as a full-time Assistant Professor of Endodontics and served as the Preclinical Endodontic Programme Director. Dr. Duggan is an American Board Certified Endodontist and holds a Florida dental licence.

Sarah Lawlor – RDN

Sarah graduated from the Dublin Dental Hospital with a Diploma in Dental Nursing in 2011. She worked as head nurse in general practice prior to joining a specialist orthodontic practice. Since 2015 Sarah has worked as a full-time endodontic nurse with Derek. Sarah has completed specialist training courses in clinical photography and restorative endodontics in England and in the United States with Derek.

Derek and Sarah will be delighted to see patients referred for endodontic care at Docklands Dental on Forbes Street.

Susan O’Connell

BA, B.Dent.Sc (Hons), MFDS RCSEd, MSc (Orthodontics), M.Orth RCSEng

Dr. Susan O’Connell graduated from Trinity College Dublin Dental School in 2011 with an Honours degree, a B.A. and numerous awards including the Costello medal for dental research.

She moved to London and worked in a busy private practice by Regents Park. During this time, she undertook further training at the world renowned Eastman Dental Institute and subsequently held positions at Guys Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital gaining valuable experience in children’s dentistry, restorative and oral and maxillofacial surgery. She was awarded Membership to the Faculty of Dental Surgery by the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh), the BAOS oral surgery prize and the NHS leadership academy award for her work.

She went on to secure a coveted position on the National orthodontic training programme in the U.K. She completed her specialist orthodontic training, working with leading consultants in the field and was awarded a Masters in Orthodontic Research and Membership in Orthodontics from the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons England, allowing her to register as a Specialist Orthodontist.
